Program finds the opera in everyday life
You're listening to opera all the time - even if you're not a fan.
Bob Levi will explain how when it presents "Opera, Opera Everywhere" at Wilmette Theatre Wednesday, Aug. 24. Levi will be assisted by a trio of singers who are studying at the Institute of Music in Chicago.
Highland Park Opera aficionado Levi found that the melodies of opera are incorporated into many forms of pop culture soundtracks of cartoons, musicals and commercials. His extensive research on the subject led to a second career for this business and marketing consultant.

"When I was a kid growing up in the late 40 and early 50's, a lot of movies I went to people who had sung the opera," Levi said. "Since television began, as shown "Voice of Firestone 'hours' Bell Telephone" and even "Ed Sullivan" would be that people find the old Met. This is probably what sparked my interest. "
